So having used up the COSRX Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser (here) from my previous routine, I have decided to give the Tony Lab AC Control Acne Foam Cleanser from Tonymoly a go.
Let’s see how this cleanser works out!
In previous post, i have included the brief of the brand so i shan’t do it from here on.
But i do have the blurb of the product to share:

If you have been using the anti-acne foam cleanser from Tonymoly for a while, you’d have realized that the entire anti-acne range (previously known as Dr. Tony AC Control) has undergone an ingredient & aesthetic upgrade to the current Tony Lab AC Control range. Neat!
So, let’s move on now to the part where i do my review:

Roaring view for [Tonymoly Tony Lab AC Control Acne Foam Cleanser]:
Product’s packaging | : | Shiny blue squeeze tube with a flip-open cap that ‘click’ close tightly |
Product’s texture | : | A little dense, a little runny and lathers very easily |
Product’s scent | : | Light, sweet scent. Kinda reminds me sweets! |
Price point | : | SGD$20+ |
Tonymoly Korea e-shop, Tonymoly Singapore offline stores, BeautynetKorea, TesterKorea, Amazon, eBay, Qoo10 SG, Koreadepart and more | ||
Try-out period | : | 3 weeks (twice a day; morning and night) |
Personal take | : | First off, i am NOT a fan of foam cleansers smelling like sweets. Urrgh. Instead of smelly medicinal or clinical, this acne foam cleanser has a light-sweet scent. Personally, i am not a fan but i think this would be a hit with others.
Despite me regretting not getting a hydrating cleanser immediately after my skin got a teeny weeny bit better after using the COSRX Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser, the Tonymoly Tony Lab AC Control Acne Foam Cleanser surprised me genuinely with its ability to cleanse well and not leaving my skin feeling parched nor tight. The semi-dense and runny texture of the foam makes it easy to easy to lather. Like all Korean foam cleansers that are marketed as being an all cleanser, this one from Tonymoly does a good job at removing makeup and traces of makeup – that said, i always insist on double cleansing. Well, at least you know that if the first remover didn’t remove all the makeup or perhaps you missed a spot, the Tony Lab AC Control Acne Foam Cleanser is going to clean up after Effectiveness wise, it’s extremely mild and pretty weak for me. As much as i would want to love it, i can’t. It is just the….mildest cleanser on my line up and i do not think i will go back to using it. It did not do much for my existing pimples, the ones that popped up after my little 3 days Bangkok trip two weeks ago nor the ones that STILL pops up during the period of using this cleanser. Like i said, too mild to be effective for acne-prone skin type. Wait, but if your skin is okay and on its way to recovery then this cleanser may be good because it cleanses well and definitely not strong or heavy. |
Will i recommend it? | : | Nah. Nope. |
To this, Buddy says:
PS. This foam cleanser is part of the ’10 Products I’m Testing Out Now’ (see the post here). The reviews for the other 8 should be rolling out soon-ish 🙂 Stay tuned!

I’m glad I came across this blogsite. Otherwise I would’ve blindly went to the closest Tonymoly store and bought one haha
