The Mighty Atom collection is Tonymoly’s very first foray into the limited collaboration category. And as usual, I know I had to get the cushion and give it a try!
Mighty Atom, or more commonly known as the Astro Boy, is a very popular android character from a Japanese manga series which has also been re-adapted into television films, movies and various games. Psst..let you in on a little secret of mine, there is a Astro Boy movie that was released back in 2009 (Astro Boy) and in the movie, there is a particularly sad scene and I still cry whenever I watch it. Urrgh, such scene always gets to me!
Well, anyhoo, this post is not about the movie review but the CC cushion’s, so let us jump right into it!

Roaring view for [Tonymoly x Mighty Atom Luminous Goddess Aura Angel Glowring CC Cushion SPF50+ PA+++]:
Product’s packaging | : | Yellow, round compact container with the Astro Boy illustration on its cover |
Product’s texture | : | Smooth, lightweight CC liquid |
Product’s scent | : | Almost no scent/fragrance |
Price point | : | 18,800₩ |
Purchased it from the store when I visited Seoul back in October | ||
Try-out period | : | Daily, for 1 week over |
Personal take | : | When i first patted it onto my skin, it felt really, really, really hydrating! It does feels wonderful on the skin as though the skin is drinking up the moisture complex made up of the 51% Moisture serum and the 20% Glacier water amongst other ingredients.
Upon application, the texture feels extremely lightweight and it just disappears seamlessly over the skin. However, there isn’t much coverage to speak of so if you have ruddy skin, or spotty skin, I’d imagine you will most likely be requiring a heavier hand of concealer. Though the coverage is next to nothing, the CC liquid does allow light to bounce off the skin, thus creating a second skin-effect that looks healthy and bright. I like this Mighty Atom Luminous Goddess Aura Angel Glowring CC Cushion for its featherlight-ness and glow, but without much coverage, I wouldn’t be missing it anytime soon. Now, if only there is an Angel GlowCOVER CC Cushion eh? |
Will i recommend it? | : | Yes, if you have an okay complexion with nothing much to conceal. No, if you are looking to use just ONE base item |
To this, Buddy says:
would this be a good product to use under fuller coverage foundation as a brightening primer for those super drying winter months? starting to get into Korean skin care and essentially don’t know where to start..

I would choose to use this over the foundation because of the nature of its texture; it doesn’t dry fast so it will mess up your layer of foundation when you try to buff it or blend it. However, using it over by gently patting it on would be an easier way to bring some highlight.

The Missha M B.B Boomer functions as a traditional primer, or you could mix it directly into your foundation for an even luminous effect, that’s a good product to start off with 🙂
