New Launch: A’pieu Glycolic Acid Peeling Booster

Okay, if you have been following my beauty journey on my instagram, you’d have noticed my intense feeling towards any sort of chemical exfoliants especially in the ‘acid’ family. Namely Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), I love what these actives can do for my skin in terms of surface re-texturizing, micro-exfoliation, regular skin turnover, unclog pores, reduce occurrence of acne, reduce scarring etc etc and so much more.

Depending on your skin’s tolerance, there are products containing these acids in varying strength.

So today as I was browsing the net, I discovered a newly launched product from one of my fav K-beauty brand, A’pieu, and I just had to share it with you guys.

Introducing the A’pieu Glycolic Acid Peeling Booster!

Featuring AHA 3% + BHA 0.45% + Birch Sap 30% + Plant-derived alcohol.

Okay, because this contains the peeling acids, you may experience some tingling sensation. Some of you may experience a slight warmth on the site of application. These are some signs that the chemical exfoliants are getting to work. Now, these are to be expected, unless you experience severe peeling, redness, or soreness, STOP using it and consult a skin doctor.

It is also required, at the very least, to patch test this product if you have a sensitive skin type. In fact, patch test everything because you wouldn’t know what you might be reactive to unless you test it out first. A typical chicken and egg situation. 🙂

Now, as with all peeling item, you are recommended to use it once a day (preferably at night), or 3~5 times a week depending on your skin type and tolerance level. It is also crucial to apply sunscreen when using peeling items such as this product.

For myself, I will be using this peeling booster right after my facial wash, before a hydrating toner and treatment essence.

For best result, pair it with the Glycolic Acid Cream  — but of course.

The Glycolic Acid Peeling Booster retails for ₩10,000/120ml (approx USD$9, SGD$12, €8, £7).
