It has been almost 2 months since I first unboxed the Lookfantastic April Beauty Box. It was prior to the Lookfantastic x Ryanraroar Mother’s Day 2018 Giveaway that took place a couple of weeks after.
A product review was scheduled for right after Mother’s Day in June but as I had some difficulties in pushing out content, the review (this post) is finally publishing today. If Lookfantastic is reading this – I apologize! Sorry for the delay.
Anyhoo, during the period that I received the products and publishing it today, I am still using the products to get a feel of them and to really get around to penning my thoughts about them,
I am guessing most of you must have forgotten what was in the Lookfantastic April Beauty Box so I am attaching the unboxing video below and you can have re-watch it again.

Brief Introduction of Lookfantastic
Here is what it says on their website.

The good news is that Lookfantastic now ships internationally including Singapore and other Asia countries. This is especially awesome to know since Lookfantastic does have some niche brands that are interesting yet inaccessible to us normally (like Nip+Fab!)
Another awesome news is that they now do monthly beauty box subscription too! Below are just some of the beauty boxes that they had previously.

From time to time, very exclusive and limited edition beauty boxes like these are available too:

Now, if you’d like to find out a little bit more, like the cost and such, do visit their ‘Beauty Box’ section on the website or click here.
The exciting bit: Extensive Brand Directory
I think we can all agree that an e-store is only as exciting as the number of brands they have under their belt, right? So did a little clicking and found their brand directory and oh boy do they have a lot of brands to offer. Check it out below!

I am only showing you the parts of the brand directory as the list does go on and on. If you’d like to see the full list of brands that they have, it is here.

Okay! Now that you guys are a little bit informed about what Lookfantastic is and what they have to offer, I would love to share a little more about the products that I have been testing and trying for the past 2 months.
G9 Skin Grapefruit Vita Peeling Gel

Here is a video of me using the Grapefruit Vita Peeling Gel. Remember, I like to leave it on for about 1~2 mins before I start to massage and remove the dead skin cells. You can don’t do that if you don’t want to.

Personal take | : | This peeling gel combines some of my favorite ingredients into one and I do enjoy using it on days when I am craving for a gentler exfoliation, something without harsher grits or bits.
Everyone knows that I love products with Glycolic Acid (an AHA) as it really helps to even out rough complexion and lighten blemish marks. The Salicylic Acid (an BHA) in this peeling gel is also pretty beneficial to acne-prone skin users. The fresh citrusy scent is a delight when using and it helps that the Grapefruit extract and its other fruit and botanical extracts provide a pleasant brightening, soothing and hydrating care. As a peeling gel with both AHA and BHA, what I like to do with this peeling gel is to just spread it all over my face and leave it on for about 1~2 mins before massaging and rolling the gel to get rid of the dead skin cells and brightening up the complexion. It works so much better if left on for a short while before letting the exfoliation work. |
Will I recommend it? | : | Yes! Considering the AHA and BHA components, the delicious and refreshing Grapefruit extract and scent, the duo exfoliating action of a chemical and physical exfoliator, this peeling gel is really good.
This peeling gel is also a good item to include in your routine if you want an effective exfoliator that will give you hydrating, brightening and purifying care with an anti-acne edge. |
Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub

Roaring review for [Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub]
Product’s packaging | : | Tall, thin, blue squeeze tube with a flip cap |
Product’s texture | : | Creamy and gritty |
Product’s scent | : | Citrusy lemon |
Price point | : | Product was kindly sponsored by the kind folks at Lookfantastic Singapore; however, the Nip+Fab Glycolic Scrub Fix retails for $18.50/75ml |

Try-out period | : | 2 months; once a week |
Personal take | : | I had such high hope for this very particular brand of scrub ever since the brand set up sales point in our Guardian Pharmacy stores many, many years back. I remembered wanting to try it so badly but I was hesitant because I have yet to venture into the realm of chemical exfoliants. And when I eventually came around to purchasing it, the brand had already up and left SG. So when Lookfantastic included this in the box, I was so happy!
This Glycolic scrub smells so lovely! It smells of lemon and so addictive. The texture of it was a creamy one with an obvious grittiness to it. Because of such an intense texture, when using it, you really have to be very gentle. You have to move your fingers in small circular motion, massaging the gritty-cream over your face to exfoliate the skin. If you have an reactive skin or naturally sensitive skin, this scrub might feel too abrasive for you. Even for me, my face was a tad flushed immediately after rinsing it away. I do like this scrub, don’t get me wrong, but I feel that this is one scrub that would be a little ‘much’ for sensitive skin. Or, if you exert too much force into scrubbing the face. I have since repurpose it as an elbow scrub which works so well for me! |
Will I recommend it? | : | No, comparatively speaking, the G9 Skin Grapefruit Vita Peeling Gel may be a better option for everyone (except those who are sensitive to any of the ingredients).
However, if you have rough and dry elbows, consider using this scrub. It works like a charm! Of course, remember to moisturize your elbows after scrubbing. |

So, will I ever be shopping on Lookfantastic myself? YES, definitely!
Like I highlighted earlier in the post, Lookfantastic carries SO. MANY. BRANDS. that I have been wanting to try but hard to access from Singapore. Lookfantastic opens up another shopping channel for me to get my hands on these brands, niche or not.
Also, from time to time, Lookfantastic does give out discounts and coupons if you have signed up for their e-newsletter. If you’d like to receive the e-newsletter with exclusive VIP offers and alerts on their new launches (brands or products), you can sign up here.
All in all, I had a positive experience with Lookfantastic and delivery had no issues as well. It was a smooth ride and products were fresh and not near expiry date. Oh, and I would like to bring your attention to the Elizabeth Arden SUPERSTART Priobiotic Cleanser. This particular cleanser was officially launched in EA Singapore’s counters only in mid-April onwards but it was included in my April beauty box. I guess what I am trying to say is that sometimes, Lookfantastic does get newer products much earlier since they are based in the UK after all. This is a major win in my book.
Do look at their monthly subscription beauty boxes, and sign up for their e-newsletter to receive latest updates and offers. 🙂
