Some months back, i was using an AHA/BHA-based toner by COSRX (AHA/BHA Exfoliating Toner) for the daily mild exfoliation necessary for the renewal and clearing of pores. I had pretty good results from it and wanted to continue using a similar acid-based toner after it ran out. So I looked around online and saw that Missha just release theirs in the form of Missha Time Revolution Clear Toner and i immediately purchased it.
Now, having tried the toner for many weeks, I am ready to share my review of it with you guys here.
As usual, here’s the blurb from the brand:

We know that AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) is used in many skin care products to promote skin renewal and exfoliation benefits. BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid), on the other hand, is able to penetrate deeper into the skin layers to exfoliate the dead skin cells and unclog the pores. Therefore, by utilizing a toner with both AHA and BHA, we are able to give the skin a daily mild exfoliation to reveal a smoother, younger skin texture that is free of blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. Well, that is the whole idea to using an acid-based toner in a routine. 🙂
Besides containing both types of acids, the Clear Toner also included the fermented yeast extract – the same one found in the brand’s First Treatment Essence, to further improve the condition and bio-rhythm of the skin. Natural Moisturizing Factor, NMF, is also added into the mix to keep the skin hydrated and allow it to repair and regenerate by itself.
Alright, with the science-y stuffs out of the way, let’s move on to the next part of the review:

Roaring view for [Missha Time Revolution Clear Toner]:
Product’s packaging | : | Tall translucent, plastic bottle with a reflective cap |
Product’s texture | : | Clear, watery texture |
Product’s scent | : | Nothing discernible; if anything, it smells very similar to those treatment essences with fermented yeast extract (Missha’s First Treatment Essence etc) |
Price point | : | SGD$29.90 |
Missha Singapore outlets islandwide, Jolse, eBay, Amazon, w2beauty testerkorea | ||
Try-out period | : | 5 weeks, twice a day |
Personal take | : | The reason i chose an acid-based toner is just so that i can have a bit of mild exfoliating action on a daily basis. This especially helps for acne-prone skin people like me to get the skin back into its healthy state – unclogging pores, exfoliating dead skin cells, promotes healing, keeps the skin in a healthy condition, all of which are good for someone with pimples on the face.
Now, after using this Clear Toner from Missha, i can safely say that it is good for even the most sensitive of skin as this really does not irritate the skin at all – mine didn’t complain! In terms of exfoliation, this is on the mild side. I did not experience any of the peeling at all. I believe because of the inclusion of the Yeast extract, this toner kept my skin really moist and bright. Although it did not positively contribute to clearing the skin dramatically, i can say that it did help in speeding up the lightening of scars and marks. |
Will i recommend it? | : | Yes. I do recommend it if your acne-prone skin is already healing up. And for all other skin types, go for it! The fermented yeast extract will positively improves the overall condition and state of the skin. |
