“Ooooh….your face look so shiny…”
That was what my housemate said when i came out of my room and into the kitchen to get a cup of water to drink on the very first night I applied the gold cream on my face. This shiny gold cream in question is The Premium Vital Renew Gold Cream from Seed & Tree, which together with two other products, were sent over to me for trying.
I have already reviewed and blogged about the other two products in earlier posts which you can click on the link after this sentence to read them – Seed & Tree Skin Mellow Cover Cushion and Seed & Tree Angel Skin Whitening Water Drop.
Together with this gold cream, the whole parcel that Seed & Tree sent over, looked like this:

Moving on from that, let’s look at the official note about the gold cream:

and then, the same product info in Chinese!

Then i took the initiative to translate the ingredients name into English on the infographic:

Personal take | : | When the brand rep asked which 3 products i would want to choose to try, I picked the only cushion they had and a light moisturizer containing snail mucin that also produces tiny water drop when rubbed against the skin. The last item that i picked was the Premium Vital Renew Gold Cream. I decided on the gold cream mainly because the it was one of their bestseller and lots of Korean stars are raving about it.
I loved the cushion and am still using the waterdrop snail moisturizer. However, towards the second week of trying the gold cream, i stopped using it completely. But before you go thinking that this is a no-good product, hear me out first. I liked the cream. I liked that it keeps my skin REALLY hydrated, soft and bright. I liked that the gold cream created this….film of sorts that seems to seal in all the skin care goodness I have applied before the cream. Ironically, it is also the same reason why I stopped using it after awhile. This film, although good in sealing in all the skin care goodness applied before that, it prevented any other products to go on after it! Like when I wanted to dab on some pimple cream, the cream feels like it is slipping off where it should have been sitting on. To solve it, massaging the pimple cream evenly over the offending spot usually works, but I am more of a dab-thickly-and-go kind of boy so eventually I stopped using this gold cream altogether. So please don’t get me wrong. The product is really moisturizing and brightening, but I feel that it would benefit the drier skin types way better. In fact, the first ingredient on the recipe is Glycerin and it is a wonderful ingredient for the skin, so it being the first place in the list makes me feel good about this gold cream. Also, two things:

Will i recommend it? | : | No if you have an oily/combination skin type.
Yes if you have a normal/dry skin type. |
