PurpleTale is a very new K-Beauty brand that had popped up in my Instagram feeds only a couple of months ago. What captured my attention right away was the bold use of the purple colors in various shades, and the intriguing product names.
Just a month back, I was contacted by the brand’s PR wondering if I am interested in giving their products a try. Being the eager beauty blogger that I am, I jumped at the chance and said agreed immediately. Within the next few days, I received these lovely products from the brand:
- PurpleTale Long Story Short All-in-One Cream
- PurpleTale Smooth Transition BB Cream SPF50+ PA+++
- PurpleTale Plot Twist Restorative Cream
- PurpleTale 5 Steps to Lovely Skin; Complete Facial Solution

Now, as this is the first post featuring the brand PurpleTale, I would like to share a little bit more about the brand before we go on to the review proper of the day.
Read on to find out all about it!
First, an info visual from the brand:

Very inspiring backstory. Really. “To help other people see the beauty in themselves” – that’s truly a committed statement and it resonates with me.
Okay, so I have been sent 4 different types of product and I will be talking about the BB cream first because that is the easiest, followed by the 5 steps solution, and the all-in-one cream together with the plot twist restorative cream. It is a lot so sit tight and I hope you enjoy it!

Personal take | : | By now, all of you (my dear dear readers) would have sort of guessed that my daily go-to base product is a BB cushion. But what you guys don’t know is that before these cushions, I do use a lot of BB creams! The cushion is a lot easier and convenient to use I will have to say. BB cream requires a little more effort in dotting, patting and blending before I think I look natural enough to head out. So when I received the PurpleTale Smooth Transition BB Cream, I was like, Okay time to take out my foundation brush, my sponge and my what not. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised by the texture of the Smooth Transition BB Cream! It was very easy to spread, blend, smooth and set. It feels more like a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen than a traditional BB cream.
In terms of coverage, this BB cream is pretty sheer, hence it could not cover much of my imperfections. Concealer is required. As far as for my oilier complexion, this BB cream does helps to curb the excessive sebum secretion throughout the day and minimizes the shine easily. For its wearing time, I would say it lasts on me for about 6~8 hrs easily even without the use of a primer. In conclusion, I will say that this is a pretty souped-up version of a tinted moisturizer with sun protection and decent oil control ability. Because there are no shades selection, I can imagine a tanner/darker skin tone user to have some matching issues. |
Will i recommend it? | : | Yes, it wears nicely and easily. On days that I need more coverage, my BB cushion layers over neatly. |
