Hello everyone! How’s it going?
Today, i will be reviewing a wondrous acne-fighting and moisture boosting product that i have been using and testing for a (long) while now. Just to recap, i have been trying and testing out 5 products, some of which i have specifically selected to help combat and tackle that red and spotty skin of mine. I am glad i stumbled upon this little bottle of natural goodness!
This little bottle is the third product out of 5 and it is none other than the Wonder Tea Tree Oil from a niche Korean brand – D’RAN. Let’s take a look!
Before we go on to the Wonder Tea Tree Oil, let’s take a look at what D’RAN is and what it stands for:

And here is the official blurb for the wondrous little facial oil:

And this:

Its description says:
Tea Tree Oil blended with botanical oils gently soothe and moisturizes skin. Vitamin E gives anti-oxidative effect and abundant nutrients to skin.
The ingredient recipe really needs to be spotlighted here. This is why:
Macadamia Intergrifolia Seed Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil (containing 5% of diluted tea tree oil), Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Argania (Argan) Spinosa Kernel Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (containing 5%)
Look at it! No synthetic ingredients, no fragrances, no dyes, no fillers, no preservatives – no nasties! 🙂
According to the brand, here are the benefits of each ingredient used:
- Macadamia Seed Oil: Contains Oleic Acid (Omega-9), improves skin’s elasticity and prevents loss of moisture
- Tea Tree Leaf Oil: Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory
- Meadowfoam Seed Oil: Skin protection
- Jojoba Seed Oil: Soothing and moisturizing
- Argan Oil: Nutrition and glowing
- Vitamin E: Provides deep hydration, antioxidant effect and keeps skin smooth and moist
Okay, with the wordy stuff out of the way, let me share my experience of the product with you:

Personal take | : | Whenever i use products containing Tea tree oil (i.e. TheBodyShop Tea Tree Face Mask), my skin usually experience a slight warming/burning sensation as soon as i apply it on. However, I did not experience any of such sensation when i use this Wonder Tea Tree Oil from D’RAN, despite it being undiluted. I am sure that has everything to do with the presence of other botanical oils in the recipe.
Personally, i am a fan of mixing the oil together with my moisturizer for use. I find that it is a lot easier to apply and in terms of absorption, well, i think it is also easier that way. What i do is that i put the usual amount of moisturizer i normally use onto my palm and then add 3-4 drops of oil for night time and 2 drops for day time. Effectiveness wise, this facial oil DOES NOT prevent hormonal/stress pimples from popping up. However, it does help to soothe and calm the redness down (though not significantly) and prevent scarring once it heals. |
Will i recommend it? | : | Yes. Only if you NEED a facial oil.
D’RAN has another product called the Wonder Tea Tree Essence that not only contains Tea Tree Oil, it also has White Willow Bark (BHA) and Oregano Oil added into its recipe. Oregano Oil is another ingredient with remarkable results on acne (source 1, source 2). |
